For those also interested in reducing their income from Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from IRAs, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows anyone 70 1/2 or older to transfer up to $108,000 to a charity tax free.   The QCD counts as an RMD, reduces gross income and does not reduce the standard deduction allowed. At the Leisure World Cares Fund we know that for some of our neighbors who are on fixed incomes the rising HOA fees have become unmanageable. They may be faced with having to give up the security of a home and move into an uncertain future.

Those of us who remain comfortable amid the rising HOA fees can choose to provide small financial supplements to those who are being broken by the fees.

Become a one-time or sustaining donor and you will be donating the security of home to a neighbor.

How you can help power our mission:

1. Donate: Every dollar counts. Contribute now to help us reach out to the few among us that are the most burdened by rising HOA fees.
